As a result of recent pending law changes regarding the requirement of the collection of sales tax, AndyMark began collecting sales tax. AndyMark now collects sales tax for orders in the following states:California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, and Washington.
Unless you have a sales tax exemption certificate or direct pay permit uploaded to your account (and have received approval) you will be charged sales tax on all orders shipping to those states.
If you would like to obtain tax exemption status on your AndyMark orders, please check with your school or company’s business office to obtain the correct sales tax exemption form for your state.
NOTE: A W-9 is NOT a sales tax exemption form.
How to Upload Forms to Your Account
If you keep experiencing errors while trying to upload your Tax Exempt Form, please email it to Tax@AndyMark.com.
- Create an account on AndyMark.com, if you don’t already have one and/or log in to your account.
NOTE: Tax exemption will be tied to each individual customer account, so each individual who places orders for your entity must upload the exemption certificate to their individual account.
- After logging in click the “robot” to go to the your Account Page. From here click the icon in the top right corner and go to “Profile”.
- You should see a section titled "Tax Exemption Form Submission" and this is where you will upload your completed state tax exemption form, streamlined sales tax exemption form, military tax exemption form or direct pay permit. The file you upload must be in a .pdf file format and you can only upload one file per submission. Once uploaded, click "Submit Tax Exemption Form" to send it to our staff for review.
- If you need to submit multiple files for a single state's tax exemption, put them altogether in one .pdf file so you can upload them. If you wish to become tax exempt in multiple states, and are not using the streamlined sales tax (SST) form, you must submit a form for each state you wish to become exempt in, and upload the proper form(s) as a single .pdf file. Our staff will review each submission.
Approval Process
Please allow 2 business days for approval by our staff from the time your form is uploaded. Once approved, the status on your Account Page will change from "Pending" to "Approved". If your form has an expiration date that will also be shown on your Account Page.
An email will be sent once your tax exempt status is approved and you can make purchases with your exempt status. If your form was denied, you will get an email with notes indicating the reason. If you had no exemptions approved, the denial reason will also be shown on your Account Page.
Allow up to 2 business days to process your form. If approved, status will change from "Pending" to "Approved".
NOTE: If your exemptions are approved and you did not submit a military exemption, your profile page will be updated with a "<STATE> reseller" tax exemption for whichever states you were approved for. You can ignore the "reseller" part as this is something controlled by our hosting platform that we can not currently edit. Example below is for a customer who got approved for tax exemption in Indiana.
Placing Orders - Payment
NOTE: If you are not logged into your account when an order is placed, your tax exempt status will not be recognized and sales tax will be charged.
Once your Tax Exempt Status is Active, you will be able to place orders with tax automatically removed.
Some states require collecting sales tax with items purchased on a personal credit card, even if the items are for a tax exempt entity. It is important to make sure you are using a school/business issued card when placing orders if you are in one of these states.
Customers are responsible for following and adhering to their state tax laws.
