If you using setting screws with it, you will make an indentation.

Poor Quality - High Price

These shafts are so soft that they only last for a tournament and then have to be replaced. At $10 for 4 inches, they are way to expensive to be disposable.

It sounds like this might be an application that is overloading the shaft(s). We are happy to help trouble shoot your robot design in the future if you are experiencing part failure.
