Works great, instructions could have be clearer

I needed a solution to interface with a Bosch seat motor to output hall sensor output, and I only found a few options online. Nevertheless, this Bosch Seat Motor DIO Kit worked! It’s just what I needed. Thank you.

Nevertheless, for such a small and simple circuit board, I struggled with both the assembly and understanding the connector interface of DIO kit. For example, neither the actual PCB board nor the Seat to DIO Assembly Pictures (am-3812).pdf document identifies which of the connector pins is the voltage input pin and which is the output signal pin. It’s a 50-50 chance and Murphy wins each time with those odds. Including a simple diagram in the product documentation that clearly identifies the connector pinout interface and location of the three resistors by name, rather than color code, would have made this a cinch to assemble and enable me to plug it into my robot system with confidence.

In an extended search, I found the electrical schematic in Bosch+Seat+Motor+DIO+Kit+(am-3812)+Signal+Information.pdf helpful. Nevertheless, there appears to be an error in that schematic with the 220 Ohm and 5.6k Ohm resistors swapped. Using a consistent naming or identification convention between documents may help to catch errors as well.

My hope is that this feedback will be helpful both for improving the product and potentially helping other customers, especially educators and students.

'Does anyone know if the Bosch Seat Motor has a slip-clutch inside?

We've looked at the exploded diagrams of the inside of the motor and can't tell.'
