Not great

It came in several pieces at different times. This put us behind, then we did not have two of the blue spacers and had to create our own work around for the spacers.

Good, But Partial

The materials are good, but it is tough to use them since it has become common for AndyMark to ship partial shipments. I have most of the materials, but without the perimeter, I really can't use much of it.

Cardboard junk

I can't believe for the price we pay for these FTC sets that they can't make the parts out of something other than glorified corrugated cardboard!

AndyMark's Response: AndyMark is the provider for the FIRST Tech Challenge game set since 2015. We work closely with the FTC Game Design Committee (GDC) to design and develop a challenging game and provide a quality game set options for teams at an affordable price. Months of planning, design and material review goes into the FIRST Tech Challenge game set each year. Molded, formed, stamped and CNC machined components are included in these kits each year. Some parts are manufactured within AndyMark while many others are sourced from quality suppliers, mostly domestic.

Of the hundreds of pieces included in this year's game set kit, a few of them are lightweight Coroplast, which is a plastic version of cardboard. We don't apologize for using this material. We designed and created this kit and are proud of what it is and how it's being used by FTC teams around the world. If, at any time, your game set does not withstand the rigors of your FIRST Tech Challenge team's practice and game play, please contact [****], and we will provide replacement parts at no cost.

Easy kit to assemble!

Anybody who's doing an FTC challenge will find this an easy kit to assemble. We set it up in an afternoon. We cinched down all this zip ties and then trim them off for a nice finish. The goal is very lightweight and easy to move. at the same time we put some bean bag weights on it to hold it down. Looking forward to this year's competition!

Ultimate Goal half game

Hello, AndyMark,
We received our Ultimate Goal half game set (blue), and have installed it on our 2/3-width virtual playing field. The installation went pretty well. The team was initially confused about how to install the vertical supports for the tower goal, but got it right on the second try. Also, the origami-like assembly of the return chute seemed too complex. The team assembled it 'wrong side out' the first time, then, after correcting it, decided that it wouldn't reliably let a ring pass completely through every time due to the obstructions caused by the tabs that held everything together and the curvatures they introduced. We ended up cutting off the tabs and fastening the unit together with duct tape. Overall, not terribly happy with the choice of coroplast for the return chute and ring catcher trays. Everything else was fine. Wobble goal rivets were good, plenty of zip ties were included, and no parts were missing. Our net was initially backordered, but arrived today.
