The Robits Intermediate Mobility Expansion is a great way to increase your Robits Core Kit by incorporating mecanum wheels. This expansion kit allows users to build a mecanum drivetrain in one of three major configurations. This kit utilizes the 4 in. BB mecanum wheel, our core mecanum wheel with ball bearings for ultra smooth rotation. For motion transfer, our ⅜ inch Hex Pass Through Bevel Box help teams move their motors out of the way for other mechanisms. New to this revision of the kit is everything needed to create a full rolling chassis!
Configurations:
Horizontal Motors - This configuration mounts the motors horizontally on the inside of the chassis. This can be useful to conserve space above your drivetrain for various components and mechanisms. This configuration can limit the placement of your motors and wheels from front to back due to their length in that direction.
Vertical Motors - This configuration mounts the motors vertically on the inside of the chassis. This can be useful to allow greater flexibility in the placement of your motors and wheels from front to back and opens up space in the middle of your robot.
Motors Between Wheels - This configuration mounts the motors between the wheels and utilizes belts to provide power between them. This option can provide a large opening in the chassis for mechanisms and components.
